The Ministry of Commerce Specifies Model Years for 2024 Vehicle Imports into Myanmar
January 5, 2024On 21 December 2023, the Ministry of Commerce issued Notification 80/2023, which is its regular yearly announcement to specify the manufacturing years of various vehicle types allowed for importation in the coming year. The specified model years for vehicle importations in the year 2024 are as follows:

| 1 | Non-commercial use vehicles | 2023 – 2024 |
| 2 | Commercial-use vehicles (trucks/passenger buses) | 2020 – 2024 |
| 3 | Fire engines and ambulances | 2015 – 2024 |
| 4 | Machinery (designed for use on public roads) | 2015 – 2024 |
| 5 | Machinery (not for use on public roads) | 2010 – 2024 |
The notification emphasizes that only left-hand drive vehicles will be permitted for importation, with the exception of machinery.
